How to check live network status on SmartFix

Before heading to the field—or if you experience sudden outages while working—it is crucial to ensure that the SmartFix network and your specific regional reference station are online and healthy.

The SBC Dashboard

Global Survey provides a live, interactive status dashboard showing the real-time health of every station in the SmartFix network.

🌐 Access the Dashboard: www.smartfix.co.nz/SBC

Interpreting the Map

The dashboard map represents the geographical location of all physical reference stations.

Status Indicators

  • 🟢 Green Pin: The station is online, actively tracking satellites, and successfully transmitting corrections to the central server.
  • 🔴 Red Pin: The station is offline or failing to communicate with the central server (due to power limits, local ISP outages, or hardware maintenance).

TIP: If the station closest to your job site has a red pin, do not attempt to connect to its Single Baseline mountpoint. Your controller will fail to receive corrections. You must fall back to the next closest active station.

Checking Port Availability

Certain broad outages may affect a regional port (e.g., Port 4809) rather than a single physical station. The web portal will display system-wide announcements or maintenance notices at the top of the interface.

  1. Before logging a support ticket regarding a connection timeout, check the dashboard on your smartphone.
  2. If the dashboard fails to load entirely, the central SmartFix servers (or your cellular provider's broader routing) may be out of commission. In this scenario, check the Global Survey LinkedIn or Support pages for critical outage responses.
